Mobile Phone Insurance

Mobile Phones Direct has arranged for 3 months Free introductory mobile phone insurance for your new phone.

Cover is optional and during the check-out process you can choose not to accept it. If you do your phone will be insured against Theft, Accidental Damage and Mechanical Breakdown. You can choose to cancel the insurance at any time, and should you decide after the introductory period to continue with the insurance, you will pay a premium of £4.99 per month (16p per day), collected from month 4 of your airtime contract. The premium will be taken by monthly direct debit and you will be notified by post of the date of your first premium.

Why? According to statistics, last year there were 1.3 million mobile phone thefts in Britain. That is one every 24 seconds. Mobile phone theft now accounts for nearly a third of all robberies reported to the police. Add to this the many thousands of phones which are accidentally damaged and the cost of unauthorised calls if your phone was stolen. You should give as much consideration to insurance as you do to the choice of your mobile phone.

Insuring you phone is a simple way to protect yourself against the expense and inconvenience of having to replace your mobile phone. Many people believe that if they do not have a mobile phone the contract will be cancelled. Whether you have the phone in your possession or not, you are still liable for a minimum of 12 to 24 months line rental dependant on your airtime contract. The SIM Free cost of replacing a mobile phone without a new contract can be hundreds of pounds.
