Smart Phones
Smartphones are exactly what their name suggests: they’re ‘smart phones’. Although there’s no formal definition of a smartphone, you’d usually expect a smartphone to do much more than a standard mobile handset. It’ll probably have a large display screen and will let you stay organised, either via online services or by offering a variety of calendar and address book functions.
Operating Systems
Most smartphones use an operating system that lets you add additional software. The most popular smartphone operating systems are created by Symbian, Blackberry, Palm and Microsoft, although some manufacturers have built their own OS.
Smartphone Software
When it comes to features, smartphones usually have a built-in diary and a contacts list that can be synchronised with your PC. There will probably be web access and email, along with the ability to read attached documents. You may also find an expandable memory, navigation services, a music player, a camera and even a QWERTY keyboard.
There’s now very little difference between some smartphones and desktop computers. Just tell us what you’re looking for – and we’ll find you a smart solution.
