Battery & Performance
Todays mobile phones run from rechargeable batteries, with most mobile phones having a user-replaceable battery thats located under a panel on the back.
The number of hours or days that a mobile phone battery will last before it needs to be recharged is measured as standby time and talk time. Standby time refers to the phone being switched on but not being used. Talk time originally referred to making or receiving calls, although it now also includes using any other phone features.
Battery Life & Coverage
Each figure is always quoted as a maximum under ideal circumstances. Both figures are linked to each other; the standby time is reduced whenever you use the phone, while talk time will be reduced after several hours on standby.
Mobile phone performance can also be affected by other factors. Because mobile phones use radio waves, being inside a building can reduce the quality of your service and may even prevent you from making calls. Similarly, some remote areas may have poor mobile phone coverage. If youd like to know more, call in to your local Mobile Phones Direct or send us an email and well be happy to explain everything.
