Awesome - so glad I have one! James Robinson

I pre-ordered this phone in May, and the wait has been hell, but so worth it. It is such an easy phone to use. The S60 interface is a breeze, and the touch screen responsive and accurate. It is not as heavy as I thought it would be, and the black version that I have look very stylish. Ovi works well, and downloading other applications is simple. The facebook app that comes with it is easy to use and works well. Overall, stylish, simple to use, the hinge is sweet, and battery life is great. Just perfect.

Nokia N97 from Mobile phones direct Delwyn Ellis

Phone delivered within 18 hours of launch - fantastic ! - old phone was a N95 so this was a bit of a technological leap from that for a 44 year old with poor eyesight BUT after 2 days of fiddling with the touch screen, i'm in love - if you're moving from a "hard" button phone you'll love it AFTER a couple of days of fiddling - so far 9/10 - Mobile phones direct service = 10/10 highly recommended ( no I don't work for them - I work in the papermaking industry)

Superb Phone in All Dimensions Phillip Higson

I moved from a Nokia N95 which I loved (except for the battery life) to an HTC Touch Diamond which I hated - it nearly put me off touch screen phones altogether. So I took a chance in getting one of the first N97 phones here - and I'm really glad that I did. It is a really superb piece of kit offering all the best things that the N95 had (great camera, GPS, music player, radio, etc.) but with a superb 3.2 inch touch screen that is really responsive and easy to use. And the bonus is a really well engineered full qwerty keyboard which is so much easier for texting (and emails) than any numeric pad with predictive text. And the battery life is much much better, after a couple of charges it's already lasting several days between charges. The double LED flash is surprisingly effective indoors, and the wide screen video is great too - seems you CAN actually zoom while you are taking videos. The only tiny negative I've found is that it's such a sleek device that it's sometimes quite easy to let it slip through your fingers, especially when using it in camera mode! So a wrist strap may be needed. I love the FM transmitter too, so once I've loaded 10 or 12 gb of my CD collection I'll have all my music on hand to play in any car I drive. Is it an iPod killer - you bet it is, beats it hands down in every dimension. Ignore what you may have seen in way of negative comments about it having a 'resistive' touchscreen - truth is it works superbly. (I suspect critics are unable to adapt their technique learned on iPhone screens, which are different but by no means better.) Don't hesitate - go and get one, you'll love it!
